This is an amazing shot! Not only that, is it only me, or do you see a guitar and strings in this dock? :)

Dette var dritkult bilde! Skulle ønske jeg var i Lyngdal under stormen (blåste det mye her da?). Blir koselig med noe høstvær fremover :D.

That is a great idea. Just two thoughts:
1) Have you considered of lowering the camera even more, so you get an even longer disappearing horizon? Just thinking that the angle is maybe a little too steep.
2) Thinking the the DOF is a little too shallow, the back becomes very out of focus very fast. Maybe if it was softened a little more. But that could give you trouble with getting the water splash so clear.

But overall a really nice photograph.

1) Yea I did actually want to have the camera lower down. But some of the water shoot up pretty high, so i was afraid of getting the camera wet.
2) I actually agree that a bit more DOF would probably have been better (maybe f2.8-f4 or something :/). The thing is, I'm not a photographer (or an artist). I often don't think about all aspects and options around the shot. I (almost) just point and shoot some times.

Thanks for the comment!

I can totally sympathize with your fear of getting the camera wet. It probably also took you some time to get the timing correct for the shot, which meant even more time to get your camera wet.

Yes. I got quite a few shots. But this one is actually two photos. There was never water shooting up like that at more than one point at the time.

Half critique:
I love the repetition. (Yes, I know the background waves are out of focus, and vertically stacked, but its still gorgeous. And I'm not sure it would actually look better by adjusting the composition so the dock is oblique to the frame as per the normal advice.)
The whole composition seems to draw the viewer into a central point. From the converging points of the dock, to the repeating water spouts, to the land on each side it just grabs attention.

Not sure what "oblique to the frame" means.
I'm not an artist, and I often don't think this much about the photos I take.
